Description
Sorbus aucuparia Sheerwater Seedling is a Mountain Ash that is equally at home in urban environments.
The foliage is mid-green, compound and containing 4-9 pairs of leaflets. The creamy white flowers hang in clusters when they appear in the spring and are followed by bright red, bird friendly, berries in autumn just as the leaves turn yellow and gold.
This wildlife friendly tree will tolerate a wide range of soil conditions and does not mind being planted in semi-shade and is useful where space is limited, providing year-round interest.
Sorbus aucuparia Sheerwater Seedling won the RHS Award of garden Merit in 2002.
