Description
Magnolia grandiflora produces beautiful, large, white flowers in the summer, which can be up to 25 cm in diameter. As well as decorating this stunning tree they also create a sweet-citrus smelling aroma. It has large, ovoid leaves which are dark green and leathery on top, with a coppery, almost-furry underside. It has young shoots that are reddish, that change to a greyish brown at maturity.
As well as an attractive specimen tree, the dense shoots and large leaves, make Magnolia grandiflora great for screening and creating garden privacy.
As well as this pleached version, we also this versatile evergreen as a full feathered tree, as a standard clear stem tree and as an evergreen screen grown on galvanised steel frames with several plants grown in each container, covering each screen completely as an espalier frame.
