Deciduous
1.Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata' / Fastigiate Hornbeam
(central Europe)
Mature height 25-30m, with a spread of 3-5m. A large extremely
fast growing evergreen columnar conifer tree. Dark green leaves
with aromatic scales, densely packed. Plant in full sun as the
plant likes warmth, if planted in shade the tree will thin-out
quickly. Plant in most soils, well drained, moderately dry to
moist.
2. Populus nigra 'Italica'/Lombardy Poplar (central &
southern Europe, northern Africa and western to eastern Asia)
Mature height 20-30 metres a large columnar deciduous tree with
a spread of up to 5 metres. Fast growing up to 80 cm per year,
leaves diamond-shaped to triangular, green turning yellowish-green
in the autumn. Plant in full sun, likes warmth initially wind
resistant but brittle after 30 years old. Tolerant of urban
pollution and coastal regions. Can be planted in wet ground and
most soil types including calcareous, sandy and clay. Sensitive to
dry conditions.
3.Quercus robur 'Fasitgiata Koster'/Cypress Oak (central
Europe)
Mature height 6m, Spread 6m. A large evergreen shrub with thick
leathery leaves and a profusion of white flowers in May to June,
with a pungent scent. Plant in sun to shade, prefers moist slightly
acidic cultivated soil. A very good hedging plant.

1.Cupressocyparis leylandii / Leyland Cypress
Mature height 25-30m, with a spread of 3-5m. A large extremely
fast growing evergreen columnar conifer tree. Dark green leaves
with aromatic scales, densely packed. Plant in full sun as the
plant likes warmth, if planted in shade the tree will thin-out
quickly. Plant in most soils, well drained, moderately dry to
moist.
2.Prunus laurocerasus/cherry Laurel (southheastern Europe,
western Asia)
Mature height 6m, Spread 6m. A large evergreen shrub with thick
leathery leaves and a profusion of white flowers in May to June,
with a pungent scent. Plant in sun to shade, prefers moist slightly
acidic cultivated soil. A very good hedging plant.
3.Quercus ilex / Holm Oak (Mediterranean)
Mature height 25 metres, a very popular evergreen tree with a
dense ovoid crown becoming rounded later in age. Leathery serrated
holly-like leaves. Quercus ilex regenerates very well after
pruning, eventually creating a dense all year round screen. Plant
in most soil types including calcareous, sandy and clay. Can be
planted in coastal regions and is tolerant of urban pollution and
dry soil. Sensitive to frost when young.
4.Thuja plicata / Western Red Cedar (western North
America)
Mature height 20-25 metres with a spread of up to 5 metres. An
impressive, fast growing, narrow, vertical and densely branched
conifer tree. Glossy dark-green scales very aromatic. Thuja grows
shallow roots with a tough dense network. Plant in sun to light
shade in all types of soil. Thuja is usually frost hardy is
sensitive to draught but tolerant of urban pollution.
